The 2013-14 Cougarette Officers

attended Marching Auxiliaries' (MA) Leadership Camp

June 10-14, 2013 

Colonel Alexis Cannon, Lt. Colonel Brittany Ritell, and Social Officers Tieuana Middleton and Dasia Hall received numerous awards as a result of their hard work during this week long camp experience.

The team walked away with Most Disciplined Officers Award, Home Routine Choreography Award, and received two Silver Circle trophies (pictured) for their performances as Dance Officers and Social Officers.

Congratulations to these girls for such a strong representation of LMHS at MA Leadership Camp!

La Marque Independent School District will provide summer school courses for the following grades and programs:

• 5^th grade and 8^th grade STAAR remediation
• Exit TAKS Preparation
• High School credit recovery
• High School EOC remediation

Warren 's Catering Adopt-A-School Program

Warren 's Catering has launched the Adopt-A-School program to provide Highlands Elementary administration, teachers and staff the opportunity to build a long-lasting relationship with a business that serves and supports students. The mission of the Adopt-A-School program is to create school and community partnerships that positively impact student achievement.

For the next eight (8) weeks we want to challenge Highlands's administration and teachers to continue to motivate students daily, and Warren's Catering will reward students for good academic and behavioral performance. Here's how it works:

·   Accumulated performance and behavioral observations for four 2 week periods beginning March 25-April 5, April 8-April 19, April 22-May 3 & May 6-May 17 will be gathered and reported.

·    The class with the best performance and behavioral evaluations will receive a catered sandwich meal on the following Tuesday, April 9^th, April 23^rd, May 7^th & May 21^st.

·   Program must not interfere with any requirements or qualifications of Highlands Elementary or the LaMarque Independent School District.

·   Teachers, Staff and Administration are not included. L

Warren 's Catering Adopt-A-School Program will foster a better understanding of the community's schools, strengthen and improve school programs and curricula, and create a sense of personal involvement and interaction between our company and Highlands Elementary. The probability of success will depend upon the regularity of the support given by parents, teachers and administration.
